One of our favourite times of year here at FARA, is when we get to shoot our yearly look book. We spend months brainstorming all aspects of the shoot, and exactly who will participate. We shot for two full days on a secret spot of beach in Morjim, Goa. This was our first proper beach shoot, and there was so much to account for! Shooting out on the beach is quite the undertaking, as there is little shelter from the wind and sun. But our epic and professional team pulled everything together perfectly, which resulted in one of our favourite shoots ever!
Of course, living and working in Goa, India we have our pick of so many wonderful people, the trickiness exists in finding dates that work for everyone of these creative souls! This year we knew we wanted our forever muse Alisa Belochkina to model, along with the insane beauty that is Carol Humtsoe. Carol is a beautiful human, inside and out, from the Northeast Indian state of Nagaland. After seeing her image around we knew she would be the perfect model to accompany Alisa in representing our SS20 collection. Our lovely make-up artist Laila Dalal, along with Andrey as photographer (Alisa's husband) finished off this wonderful team!.
We were very excited to present our new collection, including two beautiful new tie-dye colour ways. Above - Tigers Eye Tie Dye is an earthy brown tie dye that is both feminine and subdued.
Blue Moon Tie Dye is a shimmering and celestial. We wanted t create a totally new tie dye that was wearable and fresh but also ethereal. We are super excited to add this colour way to the collection!
Rachel is an absolute pro at creating spaces to hang clothing in the wild! Give her a stick and she'll create a 50 piece clothing rack anywhere. Andrey has been on almost all of our photoshoots for the last three years, and is incredibly helpful and a pleasure to have around. This year when he started photographing for us, we were even more in love with him! What a guy!
✨FARA GIRLS SELFIE✨ Rachel, Alisa, and Alyssa 🖤 About to jump in the ocean for a mid afternoon swim to cool down!
A perk of shooting on the beach is a finalé sunset. The long day of shooting always ends with the most breathtaking views and a welcome cool breeze. Shooting a look book outside means making the best of the changing light. We pay close attention to which clothing to shoot when so usually we are still shooting as the sun goes down, and this is the time when we get some of the dreamiest shots!
